On this day In the first major battle of the Civil War,  Confederate forces repelled an attempt by the Union Army to turn their flank in Virginia. The battle becomes known by the Confederates as Manassas, while the Union called it Bull Run. It was fought on Judith Carter Henry’s farm.

Just the other day I wrote about a small fire fight just prior to this battle.  I love reading about how wars were fought in the past.  I sit and think about how if a civil war ever broke out again, how different they would  be now  compared to than.  I started this  segment to document how things truly were in the military history as the beginning of erasing our American history.
